Which windows fit a VW T5/T6, Sprinter, Transit or Crafter?

Any EuroVan window fits any of these vans, as long as its cut-out fits in the free area of the panel between the ribs. There is no model-specific window to hunt for: the badge on the bonnet matters less than the space on your panel.

To check, mark the cut-out size on the panel where you want the window. If nothing obstructs that area (ribs, cables, conduit), you can fit it. The size shown on every window in our campervan windows collection is the cut-out, width × height; the exterior frame is 30 mm larger on each axis.

The reinforced aluminium counter-frame works on the curved side walls of panel vans as well as on flat walls, and the small gap on a curved wall is taken up by the Sikaflex. Walls from 25 to 75 mm thick are covered.

What is the maximum window size for each van size?

The maximum cut-out depends on the van's length and height class, not on the brand. These figures are indicative: ribs and reinforcements vary between model years and conversions.

Choose your window size

Sprinter windows and Crafter windows: what fits?

On a Mercedes Sprinter or VW Crafter, use the L2H2 or L3H3/L4H3 row that matches your van. Both are named in our rear-door figures: up to 500 × 520 mm per rear door.

• Rear doors: VanShade or VanLight in 500 × 520, or the curved VanCurve in 490 × 500 (L2H2 to L4H3).
• Side panel, L2H2: up to 970 × 520, for example a 900 × 520 VanShade, VanLight or VanSquare, or a 960 × 450 VanCurve or VanSlide+.
• Side panel, L3H3 / L4H3: up to 1100 × 550, for example a 1100 × 550 VanShade, VanLight or VanSlide+.

These large vans are often lived in for weeks, so a push-out window in the kitchen and at the bed gives the most airflow. Keep a sliding window for the sliding-door side.

For the rear doors, our VanLight rear-door packs in 500 × 520 and 500 × 450 mm come with the Sikaflex in the box, so you order one reference per door.

Ford Transit windows: which size?

For the large Ford Transit, use the row that matches its length and roof height: 700 × 400 mm on an L1H1 side panel, 970 × 520 mm on L2H2, 1100 × 550 mm on L3H3 and L4H3.

The Transit is not in our rear-door footnote, so measure the free area of its rear doors before choosing, or send us a photo. The same applies to the side panels of any year you are unsure about: ribs differ between generations.

VW T5/T6 and Transit Custom windows: what fits a compact van?

Compact vans like the VW Transporter T5/T6 and the Ford Transit Custom are not covered by our maximum cut-out table, so measure the free area between the ribs on each panel. Any EuroVan window whose cut-out fits there will fit.

Our smallest cut-outs help on tight panels: from 280 × 380 mm (VanShade) for push-out windows, and from 400 × 300 mm (VanSlide) for sliding windows. On the sliding-door side, a sliding window is the safe choice because it never projects outside the body. On the fixed side, a push-out window gives more air.

These vans are often parked in ordinary car parks and streets, so a flush sliding window on the pavement side is practical too.

Want the window to follow the curve of the side wall? The smaller VanCurve sizes, such as 700 × 400 or 818 × 315 mm, are worth checking against your measured panel.

How do you measure your van before ordering?

Measure the free panel area, not the whole side of the van. Four steps are enough on any Sprinter, Crafter, Transit or T6.

1. Choose the position: sliding door, side panel or rear door, and decide sliding or push-out.
2. Find the ribs: from inside, locate the ribs, reinforcements, cables and conduit behind the panel.
3. Mark the cut-out: draw the window's cut-out size, width × height, in the free area. The exterior frame will be 30 mm larger on each axis.
4. Check the wall build-up: panel plus wooden battens (25 mm minimum on a panel van) must stay within 25 to 75 mm, or more with longer screws.

Sliding or push-out: which window goes where?

Choose by position, not by van brand. The rules are the same on a T6, a Transit or a Sprinter.

Every one of these windows comes with a blackout blind and mosquito net, except the VanLight window-only version. More detail in our sliding vs push-out guide.

Do flat windows suit the curved sides of a van?

Yes. The counter-frame pulls tight against curved and flat panels, and the Sikaflex fills the small gap on a curved wall. If you want the window to follow the body line, the VanCurve has curved double glazing (5000 mm radius) made for van side walls, and it sits flush instead of proud.

The VanCurve is for campervans only. For a flat wall, a motorhome or a caravan, choose a flat model such as the VanShade.

VanCurve cut-outs: 700 × 400, 700 × 510, 750 × 465, 818 × 315 and 960 × 450 mm for side panels, 280 × 380 and 490 × 500 mm for rear doors. The 960 × 450 and 490 × 500 sizes are for L2H2 to L4H3 vans only.

How do you fit a window in a Sprinter, Transit or T6?

The same way on every van. Cut the opening with a jigsaw, fit a wooden batten frame (25 mm minimum on a panel van), bed the window in Sikaflex 265 and screw the aluminium counter-frame from inside. Plan about one hour per window and two people to hold it in place.

Can I fit a push-out window in the sliding door?

No. An open pane would hit the body when the door slides back. Use a sliding window such as the VanSlide or VanSlide+.

Are these windows legal on a converted van?

EuroVan windows are ECE R43 approved, accepted in the UK (DVLA, MOT) and for conversion approval across Europe.
