In short: Campervan window sizes are given as the cut-out, width × height in mm; the exterior frame is 30 mm larger on each axis. Indicative maximum side cut-outs are 700 × 400 mm (L1H1), 970 × 520 mm (L2H2) and 1100 × 550 mm (L3H3, L4H3). Rear doors take up to 500 × 350, 500 × 450 or 500 × 520 mm depending on the van.

Campervan window sizes are measured as the cut-out: the hole you cut in the panel, written width × height. A 700 × 400 window needs an opening 700 mm wide and 400 mm high. That is the size you choose in our campervan windows collection.
The exterior frame is 30 mm larger on each axis, so it overlaps the edge of the cut-out. The interior finishing frame sits proud of the wall on the inside and needs no extra room.

Always plan from the cut-out outwards: it is the figure that must fit between the ribs of your panel.
What is the maximum window size for each van?
The maximum cut-out depends on the van's length and height class and on the position. These figures are indicative: ribs and reinforcements vary between model years and conversions.

Which window sizes fit each position?
The best size is usually the largest catalogue size just under the maximum cut-out. Here are the EuroVan sizes that fit each position:

Sizes above 1100 × 550 mm go beyond what a panel van side allows and suit motorhome and caravan walls.
How do you check that a size fits your panel?
Mark the cut-out on the panel where you want the window: if nothing obstructs that area, the window fits. Work through these checks before you cut:
- Mark the cut-out (width × height) with masking tape on the inside of the panel.
- Check for obstacles inside the marked area: ribs, cables, conduit.
- Check the outside: the exterior frame will be 15 mm wider than the cut-out on every side.
- Check the wall thickness: the panel plus its wooden batten frame (25 mm minimum on a panel van) must measure 25 to 75 mm; longer screws extend this range.
- Check the inside: make sure the window will not end up behind a cupboard or a bed base.

Where should you place your campervan windows?
Place windows where you cook, sit and sleep, after you have planned the furniture. The hole is very hard to undo once cut, so draw the layout first.
- Above the kitchen: a push-out window clears steam and cooking smells. Above a worktop, a low size such as 700 × 300 or 900 × 300 leaves room for wall units.
- At the bed: a window in each rear door gives a view on waking and cross-ventilation at night.
- Living area: the largest side window, where you want light and a view.
- Behind or in the sliding door: a sliding window, because an open push-out pane would be hit when the door slides back.

Is the biggest window always the best?
No. The biggest window gives the most light and view, but a dark tint, double glazing and the right position matter just as much for comfort. Balance light against privacy and insulation.
For a bright interior without oversizing, choose a light grey tint (70% light transmission) such as the VanLight or VanSlide+. For privacy on a large window, a dark tint (30%) such as the VanShade or VanSquare keeps the inside discreet. Every EuroVan window comes with a blackout blind for full darkness at night.
Which size do you need to replace a caravan or motorhome window?
Measure the existing cut-out in the wall, not the visible frame, and choose the same cut-out size. EuroVan windows (except the VanCurve, made for curved van walls) fit flat walls from 25 to 75 mm, and the exterior frame, 30 mm larger, covers the old edge.

What sizes do roof windows come in?
Roof windows use a few standard cut-outs, so a replacement usually fits the opening already in the roof. Measure the cut-out in the roof, not the frame of the old roof light.

What is the largest window for an L2H2 van?
