The SVR is the model built for a straight swap: it keeps the footprint and front panel of the Dometic compressor fridges many vans were converted around, so it drops into an existing cabinet without recutting. It is also the low-consumption model of the range, drawing 20 to 25 W in real use for 50 litres with a real −18 °C freezer compartment.

Choosing the right model

Which side should the door open? Stand where you will be standing when you use it: the hinges go on the far side from you, so the open door never comes between you and the fridge. Pick the side when you order, and the door-reversal kit is supplied, so a later change of layout is never a dead end.

Power and wiring

The SVR runs on your leisure battery, 12 V or 24 V, wired straight to the distribution box — no inverter, no converter. It draws 20 to 25 W in real use, about 2 A on a 12 V circuit, or roughly 40 to 50 Ah over a full day. The 40 W on the label is the compressor's maximum, reached only when it is pulling the cabinet down to temperature.

Does it fit in place of my Dometic fridge?
Yes — it keeps the same footprint and front panel as the Dometic compressor fridges many vans were converted around, so it drops into an existing cabinet without recutting.

Can it run on 230 V?
Not directly: it is a native 12/24 V fridge, which is what makes it efficient on a leisure battery. On a campsite socket, plug it in through our 230V to 12V adapter.

How much battery does it use?
About 40 to 50 Ah a day on 12 V in real use.

Is it approved for a campervan conversion?
Yes — CE and ECE R10 (electromagnetic compatibility for vehicles), accepted for conversion approval in the UK (VCA) and across Europe (e.g. VASP, TÜV, ITV…), and Switzerland.
